BODY MATTERS – Georgia Petrali

During this “new era of our global pandemic”, I do feel that the essentials of contact improvisation seem to be more relevant than ever.

In times where the core of nature and humanity are falling apart, our senses need to dive even deeper into the origins of our own existence, so that we can face our pure needs.

Observing, sensing, feeling, caring, sharing, respecting, exchanging, creating, transforming, blossoming… Enjoying and celebrating life in the here and now.

Training our bodies and souls for that liberty that engages the bigger picture of Harmony.

And so, my freedom ends where your freedom starts while your freedom finishes where mine starts.

Truth and lies” of our consuming world are now chaotically conflicting with our innocent wishes and dreams as ideals and philosophies seem to fall apart, change surfaces of consistency, abusing our systems and shapes.

How does my skin absorb this change?

How do I take care and grow the bright side of myself during this process?

How do the philosophy and disciplines of contact improvisation accompany me in this life path?

«In “difficult times” it is great and wise to take even more care and with greater honestly the only “thing” that really “belongs” to us, our body.»

CONTACT SILENCE

CONTACT SILENCE retreats is a social promotion project of LIBERA MENTE APS association

We firmly believe that contact improvisation holds great potential on a social and communicative level and carries within it an unequivocal educational message. In addition to being the vanguard of the natural and authentic movement, it teaches respect for one’s body and the other, nourishing the fundamental need of the human being to physical contact, gives joy and well-being to those who practice it, reconnects man to his creativity and the primordial dimension of the game.
