DISCOVERING MYSELF, DISCOVERING YOU – Alessandro Ismaele Binelli

For two and a half years, I have immersed myself in the sea of contact improvisation.
I have been surprised by how much it has helped me work on relationships, primarily with myself.
In the flow of contact, I have discovered parts of myself that no other practice or therapy had allowed me to know.
I have reconnected with the sense of surprise.
It is a continuous discovery of myself through others and the group.
Every person I dance with connects me to a part of myself that was hidden until that moment.
Each jam transforms into a unique journey that traverses the vastness of shared universes.
During the dance, I play.
I play with perceptions.
At every moment, I perceive what the physical body, the emotional body, the mental body, and the energetic body are saying.
At every moment, the contact with myself allows me to discover the other.
At every moment, the contact with the other allows me to discover myself.
That contact brings out aspects of my personal history. My body expresses cellular memories that transform with the dance.
Every emerging content, I observe and stay in touch with.
Do I feel embarrassed?
Excellent. I dance with that embarrassment in contact with the person who brings it out the most in me.
I move it, I mobilize it, I let thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations emerge. I let the energy flowing within me mobilize that block.
I mobilize until I disappear from myself and those contents.
In doing so, I enter a field of silence and emptiness (some call it trance) from which I can begin to co-create.
In that emptiness, it is no longer us dancing, but we are being danced by something that unites us.
In that emptiness, the two become one.
In that emptiness, the leader is at the same time being led.
In that emptiness, there are masculine and feminine energies that harmonize inside and out.
In that emptiness, I discover that our point of contact is no longer a boundary that separates but a boundary that unites.
It is a boundary that dissolves and makes me perceive that you are an extension of me.
To come into contact means to value myself and to share.

Entrare in contatto significa valorizzare me stesso e condividere.

CONTACT SILENCE

CONTACT SILENCE retreats is a social promotion project of LIBERA MENTE APS association

We firmly believe that contact improvisation holds great potential on a social and communicative level and carries within it an unequivocal educational message. In addition to being the vanguard of the natural and authentic movement, it teaches respect for one’s body and the other, nourishing the fundamental need of the human being to physical contact, gives joy and well-being to those who practice it, reconnects man to his creativity and the primordial dimension of the game.
